Bucephalus Air is a premier aviation organization specializing in comprehensive pilot training, ranging from Private Pilot License (PPL) to Commercial Pilot License (CPL) and beyond. Operating under the names Apex Flight Academy, Potch Flight Academy, and Parys Flying Academy, we provide top-tier training across our bases in Klerksdorp, Potchefstroom, and Parys.
Our History
Founded in July 2017, Bucephalus Air quickly established itself as a leader in aviation training by acquiring and integrating Apex Flight Academy and Potch Flight Academy (formerly known as Mariannair). Our name, Bucephalus Air, is inspired by the legendary stallion Bucephalus, the loyal and powerful horse of Alexander the Great, one of history’s most renowned military commanders. Known for his exceptional strength, size, and indomitable spirit, Bucephalus was described as a large, black horse with a distinct head shape, symbolizing the unwavering bond between horse and rider as they conquered vast territories.
